About Doyle Foley
Setup in 1984 by founding member John Doyle (formerly Sheil Kinnear), Doyle Foley & Co. Accountants is now a four-partner firm, with Brian Foley joining in 1991 (also former Sheil Kinnear) and having worked for a number of years in the industry, Helen O’Brien joining in 2020 who trained and qualified under Brian Foley for the 15 years previous, and James O’Mahony, who also trained and qualified under Brian Foley, joining the partnership in 2020.
Each partner brings a wealth of knowledge and commercial expertise, which means we can offer our clients the complete spectrum of business advice in the challenging environments of modern business in 21st century Ireland. The Doyle Foley team is comprised of highly professional and ACCA qualified individuals, dedicated to providing you with the most seamless service possible.
Doyle Foley & Co. is a Registered Audit firm and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and it is also an accredited training firm which has been approved by the ACCA. As part of the firm’s accreditation to the ACCA, it is subject to strict practice reviews on an ongoing basis which ensures the quality of our work is to the highest standard.
The company has grown with the town of Gorey acquiring its present location at the roundabout on the end of the Avenue Gorey in 1989.
In 1998 the firm completed the upgrading of its premises on ‘The Avenue’ which provides it with custom built offices in a key location with loads of off-street customer parking.

John Doyle FITI
Trained in Sheil Kinnear Enniscorthy who he joined in 1976.
John set up his own practice in 1984 under the name John Doyle & Co.
A native of Craanford but resides in Boley Camolin were he operates a livestock farm in addition to his full-time role as an accountant.
John is an expert in all aspects of farm accounts and taxation and is a fellow of the Institute of Taxation where he brings his many years of experience to work for the benefit of his clients

Brian Foley FCCA
Commenced training with Shiel Kinnear in 1979 where he qualified with as a member of the ACCA. He spent three years working in Industry from 1988 with the Lett Group before Joining John in the practice in 1991 to form Doyle Foley & Co.
Brian is a native of Crossabeg where he lives.
Brian is one of the audit partners in the firm dealing with many clients over a variety of business from the large to the small, all with their own particular requirements where he brings to bear his forty years of experience in practice and industry.

Helen O’Brien FCCA, CPT
Helen graduated from NCI College with a First Class Honours degree in Accounting and Human Resource Management in 2005.
She began her career in audit and accountancy with our firm and quickly progressed, qualifying as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2007.
She achieved Certified Technician status in Payroll and Employment Law in 2014, and in 2025 completed the prestigious Diploma in Taxation with the Irish Tax Institute — the country’s leading authority in taxation education.
Helen joined the partnership in 2020 as one of our audit partners.
A native of Rathnure and now based in Bree, Helen combines a deep technical command of statutory audits and assurance assignments with a strategic approach to tax planning that helps clients protect, manage, and grow their wealth.
She provides high-calibre audit, accounting, company secretarial, and taxation services to SMEs, with particular expertise in company formations and ensuring full compliance with Company and Employment Law.

James O Mahony FCCA
James graduated from WIT with a Bachelor of Accounting Honours degree in 2010.
He joined Doyle Foley as a trainee accountant in 2011 and graduated as an ACCA accountant in 2014, and become a fellow of ACCA in 2019. In 2020, James joined the partnership, as one of the audit partners.
James is a native of Gorey and now resides in Craanford.
James covers all aspects of our services for his clients, from sole traders to incorporated companies. These services include accounts, audit, company secretarial , taxation and company formations. James also has an extensive knowledge of accounting systems for small business startups to corporate and unincorporated businesses alike.

Hughie Doyle FCCA
Hughie graduated from WIT with a Bachelor of Business Honours degree in 2012.
He joined Doyle Foley as a trainee accountant in 2012 and graduated as an ACCA accountant in 2015.
Hughie specialises in farm accounts and small business start-ups, overseeing all aspect of general accounting and taxation services.

Marguerite Doyle FCCA
Marguerite graduated from WIT with a Bachelor of Business Honours degree in 2011, and a Masters of Business in Internationalisation in 2012. Marguerite worked in Industry for a year up to 2013.
She joined Doyle Foley in 2013 as a trainee accountant and graduated as an ACCA accountant in 2015.
Marguerite works in the small company accounts and audit team overseeing all accounting services from company secretarial, accounting, and auditing and taxation services to a range of clients large and small.

John Farrell FCCA
John graduated from DIT (now TUD) with a Bachelor of Science (honours) degree in Business and Management in 2017.
He joined Doyle Foley as a trainee accountant in 2017 and graduated as an ACCA accountant in 2020.
He is currently in the process of obtaining an ACCA practicing certificate and audit qualification.
John is a native of Kilmuckridge where he lives. He is member of the nearby Buffers Alley GAA club with whom he plays hurling & football.
He has experience in all of the services provided by Doyle Foley & Co. from sole traders to incorporated companies.
